Thank you!!! Huge success!

Thank you all for coming and making this year's Christmas Bazaar a huge success!  I have to say, we had one of the best booths (maybe I'm a little biased, but we sure were busy!).  I'm so excited about my hats and scarves.  They did really well and I'm totally motivated for next year!  Once again, Kathy sold out of her Towel-A-Buns in record time and Renee's Hair Candy hair clips were flying off the wall.  If you missed the bazaar and would like to still get something, please feel free to contact me!  My etsy shop will be up and running this week, so you'll have time to do some shopping before Christmas!  Here are some pics from yesterday...

Mark Your Calendar! December 4 Snow King!

Saturday, December 4th, is the annual Snow King Holiday Bazaar!  I will have a booth there with Renae Glick and Kathy Vernieuw!  I have some cute new hats and some great scarves I've been working on, plus a few headbands.  I've added more organic fleece to my line of scarves and they are so cute and cozy.   Renae will have her famous hair clips that she's been working on like crazy.  Kathy will once again have Towel-A-Buns (head wraps).  She sold out last year, so  make sure you get there early!  She will also have nightlights, purses, and some adorable felt food.  If you've seen what she's made my kids, you know how cute it is.  I've also been taking many orders and filling them as I prepare for the bazaar, so if there is anything you need, let me know!  It's starting to feel like Christmas already, don't you think?

Hats back at Paper and Grace!

Paper and Grace in Jackson, Wyoming, has stocked up with some of my new hats!  Great new designs, sizes, and color combinations, including the Wyoming Cowboy Joe (bucking horse and bronco)!  This has always been one of my favorite shops in Jackson.  It's the perfect place to go if you want to find a unique gift for that special person.  It's always hard for me not to leave without buying something!  I'm so excited that they want to sell my hats.  Please pass on the word!  I'll be posting pictures soon.

Etsy...

So, if you've checkout out my etsy shop lately, you will notice there isn't anything in it.  I am trying to get organized for the fall and have been sewing like crazy.  I'll also hopefully have some new hats at Paper and Grace in the next few weeks.  I am still taking orders and do have many hats in all sizes in stock, so if you need anything or have any questions, please let me know.  I'm still in business!  Just "under construction" for the time being.  Thanks for your patience!

Sweet Little Dresses

I've been working on some little girl dresses as a special request.  Once I got started I couldn't stop.  What was supposed to be one dress turned into five!  All the dresses I used a pattern and added some of my own twists, but now that I've learned some new techniques I'm excited to try out some of my own designs! Stay tuned!

My beautiful model.  This is a size 2T dress, but makes an adorable tunic for a 4 year old!  Can't wait to make more of these.

Carrie's Corner

As some of you may know, we moved to a new house this past Spring.  Needless to say, I haven't been doing much sewing this summer.  Not only have I been organizing our wonderful new house, but who wants to be stuck behind a sewing machine when summer in Jackson is so short and beautiful!  I did finally get my sewing stuff organized.  We didn't have an extra room, so I took over a corner in my bedroom, hence the name, Carrie's Corner.  My husband told me it may as well be "Carrie's Room" since when I start I tend to take over the whole thing (you should see the closet...fabric central).  Here is a pic of my new sewing space!  Thanks Mom and Dad for the table!   More updates to come!

More from the Spring Trunk Show!

Here are some pictures from the trunk show this weekend!  It was a lot of fun and I hope to do it again in the Fall.  I'm already pumped for my Fall line.  I'm also changing up the sizes some.  The 0-3 month size will be slightly larger, plus I'll be adding some bigger sizes.  I've already been studying and modifying my patterns so there will be a better fit.  Stay tuned!

Mt. Sol hats at Teton Toys!!!

The new toy store in Jackson, WY, is now selling Mountain Soleil hats.  Go check them out!
Teton Toys is located on 36 E. Broadway, above Jackson Bootlegger, beside Gifts of the Earth.  The big grand opening is scheduled for May 1, but they are open now.  The hours are 9 am - 7 pm everyday.  They have a great play area, too, and both my kids loved it!

So, there are now 3 places to buy my hats:  Teton Toys, Paper and Grace, and my Etsy shop!  All 3 places have the same retail prices, just different selections since they are one of a kind.

A little bit girlie

When I first started making hats, it seemed the boy hats were the most popular and the ones I made the most of.  Well, after some many requests for more "girlie" ones, I branched out and they are taking off!  Thought I'd share a few (plus there are more in older posts).
This first one is for an almost 4 year old who LOVES barbie.

After my daughter saw me making all these new ones, she informed that she wanted something sparkly, plus her favorite color is blue.

Spring has sprung???

Well, I doubt Spring is here in Jackson.  We usually don't see that until June!  But, the weather has been teasing us with some warmer temperatures.  They plowed off the soccer fields and we took full advantage of a beautiful day!

Cute Little monsters

I've been so busy making hats and scarves the past few months that I haven't been sewing much else.  I got invited to a baby shower this weekend, but I already gave my friend a hat and scarf!  She had her little boy a month ago and has an older boy, so what do you get someone that probably has all she needs?  I made some cute burp rags out of cloth diapers.  If you haven't used this type yet, they are the best.  Someone gave me some and they are super absorbant and a little bigger than a regular cloth - perfect!  I actually love to make bias tape, but I'm not so great at putting it on, so if anyone has any pointers, let me know!  Then I made the Little Monster book ends.  I know she's putting some shelves in his room, so I thought this would be perfect.  I got the pattern from Lotta Jansdotter's Simple Sewing for Baby.  I've been wanting to try them out since I got the book.  Lotta stenciled on the faces, but putting ink or paint on my nicely sewn project kind of scared me.  I'm much more comfortable with applique!  At least if I mess up I just have to take it apart!  It was fun to start working on something else.  Now I just need to finish the quilt I started before Christmas for my little boy!
